About the Role
The Associate Medical Director ("AMD") will assist senior scientific staff in providing scientific support for assigned client projects. The AMD will be responsible for scientific content on specific publications oncology projects. With supervision of senior medical staff, the AMD will develop content that is both scientifically accurate and strategically sound, meet with the client, and work with faculty. You will report to the Senior Medical Director or Director, Scientific Services.
HR will start within the first week of your employment and will schedule a team formation call with everyone from all departments. This ensures that every new team member integrates smoothly with all teams they will be interacting with.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that assigned medical communications are accurate, clinically relevant, and reflect the most recent advances in the medical field.
- Consult with key opinion leaders in the appropriate therapeutic area, providing expert resources and information.
- Maintain knowledge of developments and trends in the pharmaceutical industry regarding appropriate drugs.
- Partner with pharmaceutical industry clients on goals and objectives of communications programs, ensuring delivery of the highest quality product.
- Remain current with medical developments and conduct literature searches to ensure delivery of accurate medical information for assigned projects.
- Analyze, interpret, and use complex medical documents under the supervision of senior scientific staff.
- Synthesize clinical trial data and translate relevance for the appropriate physician and consumer audiences, according to client requirements for assigned projects.
- Attend and help design clinical trial investigator meetings and advisory boards.
- Help write medical manuscripts, white papers, monographs, slide kits, abstracts, and posters, under the supervision of senior scientific staff.
- Edit medical documents, verify scientific accuracy, and provide quality control for writers and freelancers.

Requirements
Skills & Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, work to deadlines, and manage multiple projects.
- Strong financial, administrative, and organizational skills, including the ability to multitask.
- Strong client communication skills – ability to work with clients and faculty members.
- Keen attention to detail, ability to prioritise responsibilities, and contribute to a team-oriented environment, as well as work independently.
- Represent the company in a professional manner through appropriate behaviour and dress.

Technical Skills & Soft Skills
- Advanced computer skills, including knowledge of Internet searches and Microsoft Windows software (e.g., Word, Excel [ability to maintain complex spreadsheets], PowerPoint).
