About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Associate to join a Financing Team based in London. The role focuses on the structuring, execution, and ongoing management of financing and refinancing activities across a European infrastructure portfolio, alongside supporting risk management at both asset and fund level. The successful candidate will play an important role in optimising capital structures, supporting investment performance, and managing relationships with lenders, derivatives counterparties, and other financial stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Financing & Refinancing Execution
- Support execution of debt financing and refinancing transactions across portfolio companies
- Contribute across the full financing lifecycle, including structuring, lender engagement, due diligence, documentation, and closing
- Coordinate with internal teams, external advisers, and lenders to ensure efficient transaction execution

Capital Structure Optimisation
- Analyse and recommend optimal capital structures for acquisitions and existing assets
- Evaluate a range of financing solutions, including bank debt, private placements, institutional debt, and capital markets instruments
- Support investment teams with financing assumptions and structuring
Financial Analysis & Modelling
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to assess financing scenarios and returns
- Perform credit analysis and monitor key metrics (e.g. DSCR, LTV, interest coverage)
- Track debt markets, pricing trends, and refinancing opportunities
Hedging & Risk Management
- Support or lead the design and implementation of interest rate and inflation hedging strategies
- Execute hedging instruments such as swaps, caps, and collars
- Assess hedge effectiveness and alignment with financing structures and investment objectives
Portfolio Management
- Oversee debt facilities, including covenant compliance, reporting, and lender communication
- Identify refinancing risks and opportunities
- Support asset management teams on financing matters
- Assist with investor reporting and financing-related queries
Fund Facilities & Treasury
- Support fund-level financing facilities, including origination, amendments, and extensions
- Manage foreign exchange exposures, including execution of FX transactions
- Monitor hedge performance and mark-to-market positions
- Assist with hedge documentation and ISDA/CSA agreements
- Coordinate lender relationships to optimise treasury solutions

Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related discipline (advanced qualification preferred)
- 3–5 years’ experience in infrastructure finance, project finance, investment banking, or similar
- Experience in debt structuring and financing transactions preferred
- Strong understanding of hedging instruments and risk management strategies
- Advanced financial modelling capabilities
- Exposure to infrastructure sectors (e.g. utilities, transport, renewables, digital) is beneficial

- Genuine interest in financial markets and infrastructure finance
