My Client, an International bank in the City, seeks an Associate level Trade & Working Capital Finance banker, to join their wider Trade Finance business in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Associate supports transactions end-to-end, from initial assessment through to credit approval and execution. This includes preparing core credit deliverables such as Credit Information Checklists, pricing notes, and supporting analysis, ensuring that all materials are accurate, complete, and aligned with internal risk standards.
- The role also contributes to clearly articulating transaction rationale, profitability, and overall strategic fit.
From an analytical perspective, the Associate performs profitability and pricing assessments, supporting the evaluation of transaction economics and underlying risks. This involves:

The Associate is expected to apply sound judgement in refining assumptions, challenging inputs where necessary, and highlighting key risks and value drivers.
A critical aspect of the role is maintaining strong control over transaction setup and data integrity. The Associate ensures that all relevant information—including counterparty details, financial statements, and ratings—is accurately reflected across internal systems, and coordinates with Middle Office, Risk and Operations to ensure readiness for execution. Consistency between systems, credit materials, and reporting outputs is a core expectation.

Profile & Skills:
- The role requires a strong understanding of trade finance and working capital products, combined with a solid grounding in corporate credit and financial analysis.
- Experience in preparing credit materials, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple transactions under tight timelines are essential.
- The candidate will be responsible for reviewing guarantee wordings to ensure their workability, identifying and resolving ambiguities or inconsistencies, and assessing associated risks.
- The role also involves managing the full lifecycle of guarantees and letters of credit, including issuance, amendments, cancellations, advising, payment processing, and fee/commission collection, in close collaboration with relevant teams at Head Office level.
