Joining our established and expanding Nuclear team as an Associate Waste Consultant means taking a key leadership role in delivering a diverse and growing portfolio of both international and UK-based projects. This position offers the opportunity to manage and support multi-disciplinary projects across all stages of the project lifecycle, from early client consultancy and strategic advisory support through to comprehensive turn-key solutions and project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex nuclear waste management projects from inception to completion.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in nuclear waste management.
  • Develop and implement waste management strategies, plans, and procedures.
  • Conduct and oversee technical assessments, risk evaluations, and feasibility studies.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, reports, and documentation.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance, policy development, and strategic planning.
  • Support business development activities, including bid preparation and proposal development.
  • Mentor and support Graduates, Consultants, and Senior Consultants.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice across project delivery and team capability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum HNC qualification, preferably supported by a relevant science or engineering degree.
  • Extensive relevant experience with strong technical knowledge and leadership capability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong understanding of engineering design principles.

  • Delivering project outputs to agreed timescales, budgets, and quality standards
  • Fulfilling Health and Safety responsibilities
  • Document checking, review, and approval
  • Managing the financial and technical aspects of projects
  • Managing workload and technical delivery across both small and large teams
  • Project cost control, programme management, and reporting
  • Liaison with clients, suppliers, and contractors
  • Supporting recruitment activities
  • Developing waste management capability and contributing to business growth
