Purpose of the Role
Growing THM’s Sports & Entertainment MEP capability and needs a mechanical/electrical engineer to complement the existing Associate Director, to lead design delivery across Sport & Entertainment projects. This is primarily a project delivery and technical leadership role, not a business-development-led hire. This is an area where THM already holds a strong position, with an established portfolio, live pipeline and strong prospective opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design delivery for Sport & Entertainment projects from concept through to construction and handover.
- Coordinate with design engineers to deliver integrated MEP solutions across projects.
- Manage project client relationships and provide technical leadership for sports and entertainment bids and proposals.
- Support business development across the sports and entertainment sector.
- Accompany the Sector Lead in client meetings and pitches where relevant, supporting relationship-building with new and existing clients.
- Provide line management and technical mentoring to junior mechanical engineers as the team expands.

Essential Experience
- Chartered status with CIBSE or IMechE.
- Proven mechanical design experience on Sport & Entertainment projects, preferably with experience in arenas.
- Confident leading a discipline on complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- UK design experience across RIBA Stages 1–6.
- Project commercial management and control.
Desirable
- International project experience.
- Working knowledge of Broadcast, AV, ICT & Security where it interfaces with MEP design; exposure in this area is a strong differentiator rather than a core requirement.
- Experience collaborating with specialist AV, ICT & Security Consultants.
- A network of sector-relevant architects, project managers, and cost consultants.
