The award-winning Major Injury & Casualty at DWF Law LLP is seeking to recruit an Associate/Senior Associate to join our growing team in Scotland.
The Major Injury & Casualty team deals with a varied caseload of litigated cases across Personal Injury, Catastrophic Loss, Road Traffic Accidents, disease, historical abuse, Employers Liability, Public Liability, and Motor claims.
DWF Law LLP is a flexible business, which has adopted a hybrid working model where our people enjoy a mix of home and office working. We believe that by operating in a hybrid way, our people enjoy the advantages of both office-based collaboration and learning, as well as working from home.
The role can be worked from Glasgow or Edinburgh, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that cases are progressed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Strong technical ability to include a thorough grasp of principles, case law, and litigation.
- Working with our valued and long-standing clients to understand requirements and manage cases in line with service level agreements and best practice.
- Prioritising work effectively and maximising efficiency in working practices.
- Building stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
- Developing your technical and commercial knowledge via training or working practices.

What will help you succeed in this role?
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience handling own caseload of pre-litigated and Sheriff Court actions as well as assisting more senior team members with large value, complex files.
- Experience managing Personal Injury, Catastrophic Loss, Road Traffic Accidents, disease, historical abuse, Employers Liability, Public Liability, or Motor claims.
- Insurance litigation experience is essential.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and to work effectively under pressure.
