Associate Partner – Building Surveying
Commercial Property | Leeds
£70,000–£80,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance
An independent commercial Building Consultancy is seeking an Associate Partner to join its established Leeds Building Surveying team.
Working with a high-quality client base of institutional investors, property funds, and major occupiers, this is an opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor to take on a senior role combining technical delivery, client management, and business development.
The position offers significant autonomy and is particularly suited to someone looking to progress beyond a traditional fee-earning role, with genuine involvement in client growth, team development, and the wider commercial direction of the business.

The Role
Working across a varied commercial property portfolio, you will be responsible for:
- Leading complex professional and project-led Building Surveying instructions
- Managing key client relationships and accounts
- Generating new work from existing and new clients
- Preparing and negotiating fee proposals
- Supporting the management and development of junior team members
- Contributing to the continued growth of the Leeds Building Surveying team
The Successful Associate Partner
- MRICS qualified (Building Surveying pathway)
- Strong all-round commercial Building Surveying experience
- Proven client management experience
- Experience generating work and developing client relationships
- Strong commercial awareness
- Comfortable leading complex instructions and supporting junior colleagues

In Return
- £70,000–£80,000 basic salary
- 10% bonus on billings above a 2.5x salary target
- 8% of fees generated through new client relationships, reducing to 5% thereafter
- Company car / car allowance
- Flexible working – typically 1–2 days per week in the office
- Established institutional investor and occupier client base
- Genuine autonomy and influence at senior level
