Cobalt are working with a specialist planning and development consultancy in Sheffield to appoint an Associate who wants more than a purely technical planning position.
This is a streamlined, relationship-led consultancy where planners are trusted to build their own networks, develop opportunities and become long-term advisers to clients. You’ll have the autonomy to take ownership of live instructions while playing an active role in the continued growth of the business.
- You’ll manage a varied portfolio spanning residential, commercial, regeneration, employment, and strategic development.
- You’ll lead planning applications and pre-application work.
- You’ll advise clients on planning strategy and development potential.
- You’ll coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage projects through to determination.

The commercial side of the position is equally important.
- Building on established relationships within the property and development sector, you will identify new opportunities and turn professional contacts into new and repeat instructions.
- You’ll also contribute to fee proposals, tenders, and wider business development activity.
We’re looking for an MRTPI planner with strong working knowledge of the UK planning system and experience across city-centre living, regeneration, or comparable development projects.
