Associate Practitioner Post
Applications are invited for a full-time, permanent Associate Practitioner post; we are looking for an individual to join our team, working in a busy department at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, which provides a full range of diagnostic pathology services to NHS Tayside.
About Us
We are a progressive, expanding teaching hospital department with an annual workload of approximately 47,000 surgical pathology specimens and 2,000 diagnostic cytology cases.
About Dundee
Dundee is known as the ‘City of Discovery’ for its culture, which includes the spectacular new V&A design museum on Dundee’s Riverside.
Role Requirements
The successful applicant will be required to carry out routine laboratory duties including computer data entry, chemical preparation, assisting with specimen dissection, paraffin wax embedding, and microtomy.

Candidates should have completed a relevant HNC/SVQ 3 (SCQF 7) or have proven equivalent laboratory experience and competencies, and should have good interpersonal skills, a professional attitude, and be able to work as part of a team.
The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake extensive training and completion of competence-based assessments.

Hours of work are: 36 per week
