Exciting Opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapy Associate Practitioner

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, and compassionate Speech and Language Therapy Associate Practitioner to join our Specialist Adult Learning Disability service.

About Us

The Cambridgeshire Learning Disability Partnership (LDP) is a highly successful, nationally recognised integrated health and social care partnership. It is comprised of five locality-based integrated community teams providing person-centred specialist services to adults with intellectual disabilities.

Role Description

As part of our multidisciplinary team (MDT), you will work alongside Allied Health Professionals, Speech & Language Therapists, Social Workers, Community Nurses, and Psychologists.

Responsibilities

  • To contribute to the delivery of Speech and Language Therapy (SLT), under the guidance of a supervising Speech and Language Therapist, to Adults with Learning Disability (ALD).
  • Delivery of the SLT service is across the area covered by the LDP.
  • To take part in regular supervision to guide practice.
  • To create resources identified by the SLTs, for use with service users and/or in training.
  • To implement SLT programmes devised by Speech and Language Therapists for groups and individuals.
  • To contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of SLT within the LDP.
  • To undertake specific skilled work to support the treatment of the health and communication needs of adults with a learning disability.
  • To contribute to multi-disciplinary/multi-agency working within the LDP, and with other key partners, when requested by supervising SLT.
  • To complete certain administration tasks as detailed in the job description.
