Associate Principal Threat Intelligence Analyst – Rockstar Games

Rockstar is looking for a passionate Associate Principal Threat Intelligence Analyst to join our growing Game Security team. This role will involve identifying and analysing potential threats to our Live Service titles and the organisation as a whole. Successful candidates will need a strong understanding of intelligence and investigations principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to stay ahead of emerging threats.
This is a full-time, permanent, in-office position based in Rockstar’s unique studio in Dundee, Scotland.
About the Role
The Rockstar Game Security team protects our players, employees, and intellectual property against malicious actors and insider threats. We work closely with other departments to enforce, support, and improve security solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and prevent fraudulent or malicious behaviour using open-source intelligence (OSINT), internal tools, and investigative methods.
- Own and execute complex investigations, including data collection, analysis, and synthesis from multiple systems.
- Maintain intelligence on Relevant subjects and emerging threats.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality investigative reporting and intelligence outputs.
- Support security incident response efforts and escalations as required.
- Drive process improvements, including automation and tooling, to scale investigative workflows.
- Develop and maintain reporting to measure program effectiveness and inform decision-making.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, investigative techniques, and threat landscapes.

Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in threat intelligence, investigations, or similar roles.
- Strong expertise in intelligence gathering, monitoring, and investigative reporting.
- Experience conducting complex investigations across digital platforms.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and systems (e.g., SQL, Hadoop, or similar).
- Familiarity with link analysis methodologies and tools.
- Understanding of legal, regulatory, and compliance considerations related to investigations.
- Background in threat intelligence, open-source intelligence, or internal/external investigations preferred.
- Proficiency with security assessment tools and monitoring systems.

Desirable Skills ("Pluses")
(Not required but highly valued)
- Experience with Maltego, Hunchly, Splunk, case management platforms, or relational databases.
- Experience working with online games, live services, or large-scale AAA multiplayer environments.
- Exceptional analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Strong collaboration and communication with both technical and non-technical teams.
- A mentoring attitude, able to share knowledge, expertise, and best practices.
- Basic-level fluency or above in languages other than English.
- Scripting skills (e.g., SQL, Python) for automation and analysis.
