About Preqin:
This role sits within Preqin, a part of BlackRock. Preqin plays a key role in how we are revolutionising private markets data and technology for clients globally, complementing our existing Aladdin technology platform to deliver investment solutions for the whole portfolio.
You will be joining the world's leading data and insights provider for the private markets industry. We empower the finance community with comprehensive data and expert insights so they can make faster and smarter investment decisions with precision and confidence.
Job Overview:
Private markets data is often fragmented, difficult to access and not readily available. This role is responsible for acquiring, maintaining and enhancing exclusive proprietary private market data across the EMEA region. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, commercial curiosity and the ability to engage directly with senior market stakeholders to secure valuable proprietary information.
Associates own the end-to-end data lifecycle, combining relationship management, proprietary outreach, deep domain knowledge and analytical thinking to empower clients to make more informed investment decisions. They ensure the highest levels of data quality, operational excellence and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and develop high-quality relationships with fund managers, investors and industry participants to secure proprietary private markets data and strengthen market engagement.
- Take direct ownership of data quality, coverage growth and proprietary data contribution, ensuring outputs are accurate, complete and commercially valuable.
- Drive disciplined execution across the end-to-end data lifecycle, from market outreach and acquisition through to validation, maintenance and ongoing enhancement.
- Use strong judgement and domain understanding to identify high-value data opportunities, coverage gaps and areas for market expansion.
- Apply AI-enabled tools and more efficient ways of working to improve outreach, research, data validation, workflow quality and scale.
- Serve as a credible point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders, bringing market knowledge, analytical thinking and confidence in private markets data.
- Contribute to revenue-generating and strategic initiatives by delivering high-quality analysis, proprietary insights and reliable execution.
- Proactively raise risks, blockers and opportunities, demonstrating strong ownership and accountability for outcomes.
- Lead by example as a high-performing individual contributor who brings pace, precision, collaboration and a continuous improvement mindset.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
