Associate - Construction Professional Liability
Kennedys is looking for an Associate to join our Professional Liability team in Manchester, with a particular focus on construction-related professional liability matters. This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly regarded and growing UK practice, working alongside colleagues across our Bristol, London, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, and Belfast offices.
We are interested in speaking to candidates with experience in construction professional indemnity matters, including claims involving architects, engineers, surveyors, design-and-build contractors, and other construction professionals. Team
Kennedys' professional liability team handles complex construction-related claims for insurers and their insureds. The team advises on disputes arising from the design, specification, and delivery of construction projects, including claims involving architects, engineers, surveyors, consultants, and contractors, as well as associated policy coverage issues.

- Construction professional indemnity claims involving allegations such as defective design, specification failures, inadequate supervision, delay, and cost overruns
- Related insurance coverage advice and policy disputes

Required Experience
- At least 2 years' PQE as a UK-qualified solicitor, or equivalent CILEX qualification, with relevant professional indemnity experience.*
- Experience assisting with complex construction professional indemnity disputes in a team environment, ideally together with experience managing an individual caseload.
- Familiarity with professional indemnity policies, coverage issues, and the contractual framework commonly encountered in construction disputes.
- Previous experience of client contact and attendance at business development events preferred, and/or willingness to engage actively in client development.
