LJMU is one of the world's leading universities for Sport and Exercise Science and is recognised internationally for excellence in education, research and industry engagement. The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences is now seeking to appoint an Associate Professor of Industry Engagement and Innovation in Strength & Conditioning (0.5 FTE) to support the continued growth and strategic development of this important area.

Strength and Conditioning has emerged as a major area of study and career aspiration for undergraduate and postgraduate students, creating opportunities across elite sport, health, rehabilitation and performance technology sectors. We are seeking an outstanding academic and practitioner with significant applied industry experience who can strengthen external partnerships, drive innovation, enhance graduate employability, and contribute to our internationally recognised research profile. This 0.5 FTE appointment is designed to enable you to retain active industry involvement, ensuring that contemporary professional practice continues to inform curriculum development, student experience and research activity.

You will make a specialist contribution to the academic work and research culture of the School, predominantly within Strength and Conditioning. The role has been created to strengthen the school’s strategic position through enhanced industry connectivity, knowledge exchange and innovation, ensuring students gain meaningful professional experiences and industry-relevant skills.

You will contribute to broader School strategic agendas and fulfil any other duties commensurate with the grade as deemed necessary by the Director of School or Line Manager.
