An ambitious and expanding technology services organisation is looking for an Associate Project Manager / Project Coordinator to join its professional services team in Cardiff.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in project management while gaining exposure to enterprise IT, network infrastructure, cloud services, and cybersecurity projects. The position offers structured mentorship, funded training, and a clearly defined progression route into a fully-fledged Project Manager role.
Working alongside experienced technical and operational teams, you'll play a key role in coordinating customer projects, maintaining project controls, and ensuring successful delivery from initiation through to completion.
We're not looking for a fully fledged project manager, but someone who has some experience coordinating projects and has an interest in technology would be ideal.
The Opportunity
As project demand continues to grow, we're investing in the next generation of project professionals.
This role has been designed as a development position, providing hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle while working within a highly technical environment. You'll gain valuable exposure to project planning, stakeholder engagement, commercial awareness, resource coordination, risk management, and service transition activities.
Alongside project delivery responsibilities, you'll have the opportunity to develop a broader understanding of modern IT infrastructure and security technologies, helping you build both commercial and technical knowledge.

What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the delivery of multiple customer projects simultaneously
- Assisting with project planning, scheduling, documentation, and reporting
- Coordinating activities between customers, internal teams, suppliers, and third-party partners
- Tracking project milestones, actions, risks, and dependencies
- Supporting project governance processes and maintaining accurate project records
- Monitoring progress against agreed timelines and identifying potential delivery issues
- Assisting with resource allocation and workload planning
- Participating in customer meetings and producing follow-up actions and documentation
- Supporting project handovers into operational support teams
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within project delivery processes
- Building knowledge of infrastructure, networking, cloud, and security solutions delivered by the business
What We're Looking For

You'll likely have:

- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- Good experience using Microsoft Office applications
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders

Desirable but Not Essential
- Experience in a project support, project coordination, administration, or operations role
- Exposure to IT, telecoms, infrastructure, cloud, or cybersecurity environments
- Knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or PRINCE2
What's On Offer
- Salary of £30,000 - £32,000 depending on experience
