Hays Property & Surveying is delighted to be supporting a leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy with the appointment of an Associate Project Manager to join its growing Winchester office.
This well-established consultancy delivers a diverse range of projects across the public and private sectors, including Education, Healthcare, Local Government, Defence, and Residential Development. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate Project Manager to play a key role in the delivery of high-profile construction projects and support the development of an expanding team.
Your new role
As an Associate Project Manager, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of construction projects, leading schemes from feasibility and planning stages through to completion. Working closely with clients, consultants, and contractors, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will also contribute to the continued growth of the business by supporting junior team members, strengthening client relationships, and assisting the leadership team with project delivery and business development activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage construction projects from inception through to completion.
- Prepare feasibility studies, project briefs, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Monitor project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and expenditure reports.
- Administer construction contracts and manage contractor payment processes.
- Chair and attend project meetings, providing regular progress updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Coordinate and manage external consultants, contractors, and project teams.
- Provide mentoring, guidance, and support to junior colleagues.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for further collaboration.
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree in Construction Project Management or a related discipline.
- Professional membership of RICS, APM, CIOB.
- Demonstrable experience delivering construction projects from feasibility through to handover.
- A significant background within a construction consultancy or client-side environment.
- A proven track record of working at a senior level, leading on projects and key stakeholder engagement.
- Strong pre-contract and contract administration experience.
- Sound understanding of project management methodologies and construction processes.
- Knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and report-writing skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects while building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
