Qualitative Associate Director (or Senior-level Research Manager)

Permanent role; aligned to either our Leeds or London office; full or part time (at least 4 days a week).

Salary: Starting from £45k (with upweight for London-based employees)

We provide research-based strategic consultancy to leading companies within Retail, FMCG, Utilities, Finance and Media. We help our clients by designing bespoke solutions to help guide their decisions in areas spanning brand and comms, market strategy, innovation and shopper.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Qualitative Associate Director (or Senior RM) to join our growing team and specifically work on a number of key accounts and taking a lead to drive growth in the Retail sector. The role would suit an experienced qualitative researcher who has worked across a wide range of sectors, ideally with specific experience in ad-hoc projects for Retail clients, or an adjacent sector. Experience of both writing engaging proposals, setting up projects, moderating, analysing results and producing strong reports is vital.

You will be responsible for developing client relationships & working with your colleagues to deliver excellent insight and consultancy for our clients. You will also be responsible for the smooth running of a number of anchor accounts and winning new business. You will be used to the cut and thrust of satisfying insight needs within a fast-paced business, and love to meet a range of challenges as a trusted client partner. You’ll be a great team player – and you’ll like to have fun along the way!

We expect a consultative and commercially minded researcher to be attracted to this role to support the continued growth of these anchor accounts. You will also work with our wider team of research consultants, being a role model and helping them to develop their skills and careers.

About Your Experience

  • Strong research agency experience
  • Proven track record of leading large accounts and consistent client relationships
  • Strong proposal writing and ability to proactively seek new opportunities
  • Deliver insight to clients at a high level
  • Experience of working in the Retail sector is ideal
  • Experience moderating both online and in person
  • Good track record of building relationships with clients and experience of providing clients with consultative insight and direction
  • Strong presentation skills, credibility in front of clients and ability to present clear information quickly and with gusto!
  • You will be leading teams to write reports and creating insight-led presentations which require a very good standard of written English
  • Evidence of a consultancy lens on all insight delivery is essential
  • Experience managing and mentoring team members

  • Have experience using AI within research and producing reports and be on top of developments of AI within qualitative research
