Role Overview

We are currently looking for an Associate Scientific Director, Biology Drug Discovery and Therapeutic Area Lead (Immunology & Autoimmunity) to join a leading, growing organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to pioneering research and development initiatives in immunology and autoimmunity. The role is on-site in Edinburgh.

This position provides a unique chance to be at the forefront of innovative research, leading scientific strategy and collaboration within a dynamic team dedicated to impactful therapeutic solutions.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

Your duties as the Associate Scientific Director will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Lead and oversee scientific activities related to immunology and autoimmunity drug discovery projects.
  • Develop and implement strategies for biological research initiatives aligned with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including internal and external stakeholders, to drive project progress.
  • Contribute to the scientific leadership of the department, ensuring research quality and compliance.
  • As the Associate Scientific Director, you will support innovation and provide scientific guidance to the team.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Associate Scientific Director, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

  • A Degree or higher level in a relevant field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry).
  • Proven experience in drug discovery, immunology, or autoimmunity research within a related scientific environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of biological research techniques, assay development, and therapeutic assessment.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
