Associate Scientist / Research Scientist – Upstream Process Sciences
Are you passionate about biotech innovation and eager to contribute to the development of life-saving therapeutics? Join our dynamic team as a Research Scientist in Upstream Process Sciences and play a pivotal role in advancing biologics manufacturing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of bioprocess development, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver transformative health solutions.
In this hands-on role, you will support early-stage process development, optimisation, and manufacturing support activities for biologics, working with advanced cell culture technologies including bioreactors and high-throughput platforms. Your expertise will directly impact the scalability and efficiency of innovative protein therapeutics, ensuring the best quality standards are met.
Required Skills
- Experience in mammalian cell culture and biologics process development
- Hands-on skills with CHO cell culture and therapeutic protein production
- Proficiency operating Ambr® systems and laboratory bioreactors
- Knowledge of process scale-up principles and process characterisation
- Ability to apply DoE and statistical analysis to optimise processes
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Familiarity with automation, digital tools, and data management systems
- Understanding of GMP, data integrity, and quality compliance

Nice To Have Skills
- Experience with perfusion or ATF processes
- Technology transfer and manufacturing support expertise
- Exposure to downstream processing and integrated process development
Preferred Education And Experience
- MSc in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Bioprocess Engineering, or a related field
- OR BSc with relevant industrial experience
Other Requirements
- Willingness to work on-site and adapt to upcoming relocation
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement activities
