Overview
Pathway Legal is delighted to be working with a leading commercial law firm in Belfast to recruit an Associate / Senior Associate – Corporate to join its growing Corporate team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced corporate solicitor looking to progress their career within a highly regarded and expanding practice. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of high-quality corporate transactional matters, acting for an impressive portfolio of clients across Northern Ireland, Ireland and the wider UK.
The Corporate team has experienced significant growth and offers a supportive and collaborative environment where lawyers have access to experienced Partners, high-quality work and genuine opportunities for career progression. For an ambitious Associate looking to take the next step, or an established Senior Associate seeking a role with strong long-term prospects, this is an opportunity to join a team with real momentum in the Belfast market.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on a broad range of corporate transactions and corporate governance matters.
- Manage corporate matters effectively from instruction through to completion, ensuring a consistently high standard of client service.
- Develop strong working relationships with clients, colleagues and other professional advisers.
- Analyse legal and commercial risk and provide clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice.
- Work closely with Partners and other senior lawyers on complex and high-value corporate transactions.
- Take responsibility for managing workloads, priorities and deadlines across multiple matters.
- Develop a strong understanding of clients' businesses, sectors and commercial objectives.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and help strengthen existing and prospective client relationships.
- Support the development and progression of junior lawyers and other members of the team.
- Maintain and develop technical knowledge through ongoing training and professional development.
- Contribute to improvements in team processes, efficiency and service delivery.
- Play an active role in the continued growth and development of the Corporate practice.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Qualified Solicitor with strong post-qualification experience in corporate law.
- Previous experience advising on corporate transactions and/or corporate governance matters.
- Strong technical knowledge with the ability to provide practical and commercially focused legal advice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the wider business considerations affecting clients.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and competing priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
- A client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering a high-quality service.
- Ability to build strong and effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
- A proactive approach to professional development and progressing technical expertise.
- Experience supporting, supervising or mentoring junior colleagues would be particularly beneficial at Senior Associate level.
- A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for contributing to the continued growth of the team.
