Job Purpose
We have an opportunity for an Associate or Senior Associate to join our Real Estate team within the Living Sector, advising public and private sector clients on the delivery of homes across all tenures. The role offers exposure to a broad range of work, including sales and purchases, funding and development structures, and a variety of delivery models across the living sector.

This is a fast-paced role within a large team and the successful candidate will have direct interaction with clients and responsibility for transactional delivery.

The role holder will gain a varied and interesting commercial property experience ranging from:
- Acting as advisor to an exciting array of major real estate clients across all sectors
- Being a key part of the team handling project documentation for the delivery of homes within the Living Sector
- Building and maintaining client and agent relationships
- Initiation of and participation in business development activities of the practice area and firm
Ultimately you will become a key team member of Scotland's biggest real estate practice and be available to assist the wider real estate practice area in completing a wide variety of property projects north of the border.
CORE TASKS
You will have a vital role in a busy team that lets you learn from and with your colleagues and be involved in transactions from an early stage.
- Working with and supporting junior colleagues.
- Delivery of all aspects of commercial transactions.
- Negotiating and implementing the full spectrum of contractual documents project delivery.
- You will gain an in-depth understanding of the sectors our clients are working in, from both a legal and commercial perspective. As part of that, you will develop sector-specific real estate know-how.
- You will be encouraged to develop a highly commercial approach to the advice you provide.
- You will become a valued advisor to busy property professionals who look to you for sensible, pragmatic and cost-effective solutions to ensure they meet their targets.
- Involvement in business development activities and firm initiatives.
- You will be encouraged and helped to build your network of contacts, to contribute to the firm both formally and informally, and to develop your career path.
- Be aware of Brodies’ information security policies, and protect information assets from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference at all times.

Person Specification & Skills
- An interest in the commercial property industry and its drivers and to show initiative in furthering your understanding of the property industry.
- Enthusiasm and a desire to learn, quick thinking and commercial pragmatism.
- Good attention to detail but an ability to keep a commercial perspective.
- Interest and enthusiasm for the property industry.
- Confident and personable communicator, with the ability to build relationships through direct conversations as well as written communication.
- The ability to adapt in a fast-paced working environment.
- Self-motivated and driven.
- Ability to deal with competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Shows understanding of clients’ needs, and tailors’ advice appropriately.
- Demonstrates sound commercial judgment.
