Senior Health Economist (Associate, contract, remote, UK)
We need a health economist who can take a real NHS pathway and turn it into a model a trust will use. This is a named associate role on a short UK assignment in acute care and diagnostics, from autumn 2026 into early 2027 if the work is commissioned. About 40–45 days. You lead the economics.
You will:
- Build a tool a trust can run with its own data
- Design the model and the costing
- Set out outcomes, uncertainty and what the numbers can and cannot support
- Write the technical report with the clinical adviser
- Join regular working discussions with subject-matter experts
You will already have:
- A postgraduate qualification in health economics
- Published applied analysis in a healthcare setting
- Recent work with NHS costs, outcomes or diagnostics
- Enough seniority to be named as lead economist
- Infection, AMR or sepsis work is a plus

Clinical Adviser, Infectious Diseases and Microbiology (Associate, contract, remote, UK)
We need a consultant who still sees infection on the ward and can tell an economist which assumptions a hospital will not believe. This is a named associate role on a short UK assignment in NHS infection services and diagnostics, from autumn 2026 into early 2027 if the work is commissioned. About 8–12 days. You advise. You do not write the model.
You will:
- Map the clinical pathway with the health economist
- Agree which infection outcomes belong in the analysis
- Challenge parameters that look neat on a spreadsheet and wrong on a ward
- Join regular expert discussions

You will already be:
- A consultant in infectious diseases or medical microbiology, or hold an equivalent honorary NHS contract
- Active in bloodstream infection, sepsis, antimicrobial stewardship or diagnostic microbiology
- Willing to have your name on a client proposal
How this works: Associate contract, not employment. Remote, with regular scheduled calls. Competitive day rate, agreed on a call. You will need your employer’s permission for paid external work.
