Nova Care Consultants works closely with legal professionals, financial advisors, private clients, families, and communities, and is widely respected for clear, solution-focused reports. The company offers rapid assessments within seven working days and has a strong record of acceptance of its work under both public funding (Legal Aid) and private arrangements. In 2024, Nova Care Consultants is expanding its services by onboarding additional experienced independent social work, nursing, and occupational therapy associates.
Role Description
As an Associate Social Worker at Nova Care Consultants, you will provide independent social work assessments and reports, primarily in the areas of mental health, capacity, community care, and safeguarding. You will conduct detailed assessments with individuals, families, and carers, gather relevant information from multidisciplinary professionals, and formulate clear, evidence-based recommendations. This is a 100% remote role, offering flexibility while requiring reliable availability, professional autonomy, and strong time management.
Qualifications
- Professional social work qualification (e.g., CSS, CQSW, DipSW or degree in Social Work or equivalent) and current registration with the relevant UK social work regulatory body.
- Experience in mental health, community care, capacity assessments, or related statutory and independent practice settings.
- Strong assessment, analysis, and report-writing skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and accessibly for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage caseloads, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with clients, families, legal professionals, and multidisciplinary partners in a respectful, trauma-informed manner.
- Solid understanding of relevant legislation, policy, and guidance (e.g., Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, safeguarding frameworks) and their application in practice.
- Competence in using digital tools and secure case management systems, with strong attention to data protection, confidentiality, and ethical practice.
- Experience in forensic or court-related social work, nursing, or occupational therapy collaboration is beneficial, as is prior work within Legal Aid or private client contexts.
