Overview:

We are seeking an ambitious Associate Solicitor with 2–4 years’ PQE to join our growing Finance Litigation team.

This is an opportunity to take an active role in a varied caseload of finance and commercial disputes, working closely with experienced solicitors while also taking responsibility for progressing your own matters. The successful candidate will have strong technical ability, sound commercial judgment, and the confidence to communicate effectively with clients, opponents, and other professionals.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and commercially minded, and who wants to develop their career within a growing firm where they can make a genuine contribution to the team and its future development.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and progress your own caseload of finance litigation, insolvency/enforcement proceedings, commercial disputes, and related contentious matters, with appropriate supervision where required;
  • Advise clients clearly and commercially on legal issues, litigation strategy, risk, costs, and potential outcomes;
  • Draft and review pleadings, witness statements, applications, correspondence, settlement agreements, and other legal documents;
  • Conduct legal research and analyse relevant legislation, procedural rules, and case law;
  • Prepare matters for hearings, applications, mediations, trials, and other forms of dispute resolution;
  • Liaise with clients, counsel, experts, opponents, the courts, and other third parties throughout the progression of matters;
  • Conduct negotiations and contribute to settlement strategies with a focus on achieving commercially effective outcomes for clients;
  • Maintain accurate and organised matter files and ensure key deadlines, court directions, and procedural requirements are met;
  • Record time accurately and assist with the effective financial management and billing of matters;
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the litigation team and wider firm;
  • Contribute to the continued development of the firm, including improving processes, sharing knowledge, and supporting business development opportunities; and
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of client service and take ownership of matters entrusted to you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
