About The Role

We are seeking a newly qualified to 2 PQE solicitor to join our Chambers band 1 ranked London Clinical Negligence team. This role offers the opportunity to manage your own caseload across a broad range of clinical negligence matters while working alongside experienced practitioners in a highly regarded claimant practice.

The team acts on a wide variety of clinical negligence cases, with particular expertise in maternal health, birth injuries, and injuries sustained by mothers during childbirth. We however also advise on a diverse range of claims, including brain injuries, orthopaedic injuries, delayed or missed cancer diagnoses, GP negligence, child and adult fatal claims, and cases involving radiological errors.

What You'll Bring

  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to equality, access to justice and affordable legal advice of the highest quality.
  • 0-2 years post qualification, with direct experience in clinical negligence.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and an interest in medicine and clinical negligence law.
  • Demonstrable knowledge in conduct of cases from initial advice through to trial.
  • An understanding of calculating losses in Schedule of Loss.
  • Experience in dealing sensitively with clients and experts, providing solutions and managing difficult situations and conversations.
  • Solid awareness of the general legal and ethical principles and able to apply those to different situations.
  • Solid experience in using a variety of IT packages (MS Word, Excel, Case Management Systems and Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated by ability to communicate accurately, clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent time management skills, demonstrated by ability to organise and prioritise a complex workload and work to tight deadlines.
  • Substantial experience in working and contributing in a team environment.
  • Relevant litigation experience gained within a claimant firm, though not essential will be highly desirable.
