About The Role
Amy Chater is seeking an NQ to 2PQE associate to join our Court of Protection team, which supports clients and their families across our Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence departments. The Court of Protection team provides professional deputyship services for clients who lack the mental capacity to manage their own damages and compensation awards.
This role is ideally suited to either a newly qualified solicitor looking to take their first step or a junior associate seeking a lateral move into a close-knit and supportive Court of Protection team. Due to the specialist nature of the work, previous Court of Protection experience is essential.
Please note our NQ salaries are £52,000 in London and £41,500 regionally.
What You'll Bring
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to equality, access to justice and affordable legal advice of the highest quality.
- 0-2PQE solicitor, with a demonstrable experience within court of protection work.
- Experience in dealing sensitively with clients and experts, providing solutions and managing difficult situations and conversations.
- Solid awareness of the general legal and ethical principles and able to apply those to different situations.
- Solid research skills using on-line systems.
- Solid experience in using a variety of IT packages (MS Word, Excel, Case Management Systems and Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrated by ability to communicate accurately, clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent time management skills, demonstrated by ability to organise and prioritise a complex workload and work to tight deadlines.
- Substantial experience in working and contributing in a team environment.
