Commercial Property Solicitor

Southampton | £55,000 – £65,000 DOE | Hybrid following completion of probation

GMP Recruitment Agency Limited are proud to be supporting a respected and ambitious law firm in Southampton in their search for an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded solicitor looking to take ownership of a varied caseload, work closely with an established client base and play an active role in the continued growth and development of the Commercial Property department.

The Role

As a Commercial Property Solicitor, you will manage a varied and interesting caseload, providing high-quality, commercially focused advice to a diverse range of clients.

Your caseload will include:

  • Commercial landlord and tenant matters
  • Commercial property acquisitions and disposals
  • Conditional contracts
  • Overages and option agreements
  • Property finance
  • Development and regeneration matters
  • General commercial property transactions and advisory work

You will have the autonomy to manage matters from inception through to completion, while maintaining a strong focus on client service, commerciality and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a varied and complex commercial property caseload.
  • Provide clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Keep clients regularly updated regarding progress, costs and outcomes.
  • Manage matters efficiently, ensuring deadlines and financial targets are met.
  • Maintain accurate time recording, billing and work-in-progress management.
  • Contribute towards the profitability and continued growth of the department.
  • Support, mentor and supervise junior fee earners and support staff.
  • Contribute to team meetings, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Develop relationships with clients, agents and professional referrers.
  • Participate in networking and business development activities.
  • Support marketing initiatives and identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships.

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced and qualified Commercial Property Solicitor with strong technical knowledge and the confidence to manage their own caseload with minimal supervision.

You will ideally be:

  • A qualified Solicitor with solid Commercial Property experience.
  • Commercially aware with a strong client-focused approach.
  • Confident managing your own caseload independently.
  • An excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable mentoring and supporting junior colleagues.
  • Proactive and organised, with strong attention to detail.
  • Interested in business development and building long-term professional relationships.
  • Committed to delivering a high-quality service and contributing to the wider success of the firm.
