Lostock Legal Solicitors Ltd is a law firm serving clients throughout the UK, providing accessible and client-focused legal defence services. Predominantly specialising in defence of road traffic matters, professional disciplinary proceedings, regulatory matters and some general criminal court work. Role Description

This is a full-time, Associate Solicitor role based in Chorley but with some travel to attend hearings at Court or for tribunal. There is no requirement to do out of hours or overtime. The Associate Solicitor will manage their own caseload, meet with clients, provide legal advice, and handle matters from initial instruction to completion.

Day-to-day tasks may include:

  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents
  • Preparing correspondence
  • Negotiating on behalf of clients
  • Representing clients in transactions or negotiations

The role involves working with colleagues to ensure cases progress efficiently, maintaining accurate case files, and complying with all regulatory and firm policies. The Associate Solicitor will also contribute to business development activities, such as building client relationships and supporting the firm’s local presence.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Criminal Law, ideally with experience of motoring law with the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and case law.
  • Experience or interest in Criminal law and Motoring law.
  • Qualified Solicitor with appropriate practicing certificate and compliance with SRA regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills, with attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Strong client-care and communication skills, including the ability to explain legal issues clearly and manage client expectations.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a busy office environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and willingness to work collaboratively within a team.
