We are looking for an experienced Management Surveyor to join our Commercial Property and Asset Management team based within our growing hub office in Cambridge. The post holder will play a pivotal role in the management of Carter Jonas’ own office portfolio in addition to a wide range of client professional work, while also helping to strengthen Carter Jonas’ profile within this market. This role will suit someone looking for a new career challenge and with the desire to contribute to the success of Carter Jonas’ business growth and assets. Main tasks:
- Driving asset management opportunities that enhance property performance and value
- Conducting property inspections and producing reports
- Working with our facilities colleagues to ensure strict H&S compliance of the managed portfolios
- Coordinating and reviewing planned maintenance works
- Undertaking lease negotiations
- Supporting the preparation of service charge budgets and reconciliations or challenging these
- Overseeing rent and opex payments
- Collaborating with client accounting colleagues to deliver a best in class service
- Administration of property insurance including premium apportionment and invoicing
- Assisting with fielding helpdesk enquiries
- Building strong working relationships with clients and contractors
- Producing accurate and timely client reports that inform strategic decisions

The candidate will require a good working knowledge of L&T Act 1954, L&T Cov. Act 1995, other appropriate legislation
What will it take to be successful?
- You will have a management surveying or facilities management background with significant post qualification (RICS, IWFM or equivalent) experience and good working knowledge of all relevant legislation.
- You will have strong client management and communication skills and will have the ability to drive business initiatives forward in a confident and personable manner.
- You will be proactive and ambitious, with the ability to guide and support the wider team, including the coaching of junior members.
- The role involves frequent travel therefore a valid driving licence is required.
