What You Would Get To Do
The Associate Team Lead, Event Management will assume a key role within the organisation by leading and motivating colleagues to enhance working relationships and embody FIRST values and our client’s brand. The individual will ensure the project team delivers consistently exceptional service to our clients through excellent project management and delivers world-class events that exceed client expectations. Along with other FIRST team members, the Associate Team Lead, Event Management will represent the FIRST Solutions brand on-site within a well-known tech company. The Associate Team Lead, Event Management will oversee a team of up to 5 direct reports and will be dedicated to a specialised area of the business.
Your Contributions
- Works to coordinate staff assignments and workload for a specialised area of the business (covering up to 5 direct reports)
- Reviews requests sent by event intake team and confirms space, approvals, and other pertinent information before assigning within their designated area
- Advises on the planning and execution of events for designated groups, overseeing execution of events within their specific business remit
- Support and coordinate the delivery of events as needed, especially business-critical events
- Handle localised event escalations for their specific area, acting as the first point of escalation before the Team Lead
- Manage monthly audit reports for their team as required by the client and internal management
- Partner with senior leadership and the client on tactical initiatives and projects related to their specialised stream
- Directly manage a small team of up to 5 direct reports
- Develop, mentor, and provide feedback to team members on an ongoing basis, acting as a foundational people manager
- Oversee the workload of their team, ensuring day-to-day understanding of capacity/pressure points and assisting/offering guidance on the team’s events where required
- Manage vacation schedules, ensuring appropriate team coverage for their specific area, and review team expense reports
- Assist with the onboarding process for new employees joining their specific team
- Ensure the team adheres to standard operating procedures and compliance processes
- Manage and promote communications to team members to ensure maximum efficiency within the specialised area
- Partner with FIRST People & Culture on team-specific initiatives, localised recruiting, and employee relations matters
- Ensure the team maintains positive relationships with clients within their remit
- Ensure the team is providing value to clients and seeking value-adds where possible
- Encourage and motivate the team to be knowledgeable of best practices and services, and to be proactive with ideas and creative solutions

What We Are Looking For
- Strong people management skills with the ability to lead by example
- This role will be assigned to a primary location but will require flexibility to be deployed to support across the campus(es) as required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills at all levels
- Decision maker and problem solver with a collaborative/team-player attitude
- Positive and caring approach to team management
- Experience working cross-functionally with all levels of stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Creative problem solver, resourceful, team player
- Adaptability to situations and ever-changing demands
- Highly organised with the ability to handle multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
- Ambitious and proactive with a calm and flexible approach to handling pressure
- Experience working on large and complex databases
- Must be fluent in English
- Assume responsibility for own environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety policies while maintaining clean, smart surroundings
- Work intelligently and ensure management is aware of problems or issues which negatively affect productivity
- Build excellent relationships with the team through positive communications
- Ensure knowledge is shared within the team to enable them to work smarter and more efficiently
- Work on ad hoc requests from clients as required
