Location: Chelmsford
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
Penguin Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a well-established, expanding planning consultancy with a strong UK-wide footprint. They are seeking an Associate Town Planner / Associate Partner to strengthen their team.
The consultancy handles a wide spectrum of planning work, offering strategic planning and development advice to clients that include landowners, developers, and private individuals.
This is a great opening for an experienced planner ready to take on more responsibility, work more closely with clients, and follow a clear path to partnership.

The Role
As an Associate Town Planner / Associate Partner, you will own a diverse portfolio of planning projects while nurturing and growing client relationships.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Overseeing a varied caseload of projects, from initial instruction through to decision
- Giving strategic planning advice to private clients, landowners, and developers
- Preparing and lodging planning applications
- Leading planning appraisals and shaping development strategies
- Drafting planning statements, representations, and appeal submissions
- Negotiating with local planning authorities on behalf of clients
- Attending client meetings and carrying out site visits
- Developing and sustaining strong, long-term client relationships
