Banking & Finance Associate — 3–5 PQE — London

Mid-market firm | Hybrid | Full-time

A well-regarded mid-market firm is recruiting a banking and finance associate at 3–5 PQE into its London office. The work is genuinely generalist: if you want breadth rather than early specialisation, this is a sensible move.

The team

The practice acts for clearing banks, challenger banks, alternative lenders, funds, corporates and sponsors, on both lender and borrower side. Work spans corporate and bank lending, acquisition and leveraged finance, real estate finance, asset-based lending and development finance. Deal sizes sit in the mid-market, which means associates get direct client contact and real drafting responsibility rather than a narrow slice of a large transaction.

What you'll be doing

  • Running your own matters from instruction through to completion, with partner supervision on the more complex deals
  • Drafting and negotiating facility agreements, security packages, intercreditor arrangements and ancillary documentation, on LMA and bespoke precedents
  • Advising on structure and execution risk, not just process-managing conditions precedent
  • Supervising and developing trainees and junior associates
  • Working with corporate, real estate and restructuring colleagues on cross-referred mandates
  • Contributing to business development: client events, know-how, panel submissions and building your own following

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
