Position Overview
Green Street is one of the leading companies in the commercial real estate research, data, and analytics industry. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AVP, Accounting to join our finance team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in auditing large, complex companies, with experience working on US corporate income tax. We provide a world-class Finance leadership team and mentoring to support professional development. Job Responsibilities
- Lead the following duties for all Green Street’s entities in the U.S. along with group consolidation accounting
- Manage the month-end close under tight timelines, improve internal processes, and provide deep and valuable business insights including analysis on the company’s revenues, expenses, balance sheet items, and KPIs.
- Review the company’s annual financial statements and footnote disclosures and prepare documentation support to external auditors. Assist in coordination of external audit for the company and its affiliates.
- Lead the tax accounting calculations, including tax provision and deferred taxes. Assess new opportunities and legislative developments locally and abroad. Work with our tax consultants on the annual tax return.
- Provide technical accounting guidance and support to the finance team and cross-functional stakeholders on complex accounting issues including revenue recognition, equity, and business combinations.
- Establish and maintain intercompany transactions and support the company’s organic growth to new locations, including establishment of new entities and/or offices.
- Participate in M&A transactions by leading the accounting due diligence, executing post-merger integration of the finance function, and providing insights and recommendations to the company’s senior leadership team.
- Lead system implementation projects to improve the team’s efficiency and increase the cooperation with the FP&A team as well as other departments within the organization.
- Manage a team of 3 and review tasks completed by them while mentoring and guiding them.
- Review the Company’s monthly state sales tax filings and perform physical and economic nexus analysis to determine potential liability in new U.S. states.
- Oversee banking operations and cash management, coordinating with bank contacts, and manage cash forecasting
- Shaping and enforcing the travel & entertainment policy.
- Establish and maintain internal controls, ensure that proper accounting procedures are being followed by all departments/affiliates, and research accounting issues for compliance with GAAP.
- Management of NetSuite as an admin, including access, controls, and creation of new structures.
- Assist in ad-hoc reporting/projects for management and the company’s senior leadership.

Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required. CPA required. Master’s degree is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in all aspects of accounting and 2 years with US taxes - required. A combination of public accounting and industry experience would be ideal; working experience in mergers and acquisition-related work, writing technical accounting guidance memos, and/or implementing internal controls is a plus.
- At least 2 years of leadership experience, preferably with directly managing employees in person.
- NetSuite and FloQast experience is a large plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical — the individual can synthesize complex or diverse information, able to analyze and provide recommendations using problem-solving approach and creativity.
- Delegation — the individual delegates work assignments, gives authority to work independently, sets expectations, and monitors delegated activities. Able to work and manage remote employees and external service providers.
- Planning/organizing — the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, and develops realistic action plans while looking to improve processes and add value to existing ones.
- Self-starter — must have the ability to problem solve and self-initiate processes with limited guidance.
- Communication – excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience of working with senior executives and/or in an international setting is a plus.

Compensation, Benefits, and Work Authorization
In addition to the posted base salary range, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.

USD $170,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.
