As we continue to grow our Horsham office, we have an exciting opportunity for an Associate / Senior Associate to join Craig Burton and our Real Estate team. This is an amazing opportunity for an ambitious lawyer looking to progress their career. In this role, you will have exposure to all aspects of commercial real estate and work with a wide variety of clients.
The Role
Working within a busy Commercial Property department, you will manage a broad caseload of general commercial real estate matters. The work is varied, high quality, and offers consistent client interaction across a diverse range of sectors.
You will be supported by partners within the team while also enjoying plenty of autonomy to build your technical and commercial skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquisitions & Disposals: Handling freehold and leasehold commercial property transactions.
- Landlord & Tenant: Managing the negotiation, grant, and renewal of commercial leases.
- Corporate Support: Advising on the property elements of corporate transactions and business sales/purchases.
- Development Work: Drafting and negotiating conditional contracts and option agreements.
- Property Finance: Supporting commercial refinancing and property finance arrangements.
- Client Advisory: Providing general advisory work for a diverse portfolio of SME, OMB, and investor clients.

About You
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Experience: 4–10 years' PQE in commercial property or general commercial real estate.
- Technical Skill: Solid experience handling a range of transactional property matters.
- Client Care: Strong client-facing skills and the confidence to manage matters independently.
- Mindset: A proactive, commercially aware approach to legal challenges.
- Team Fit: The desire to grow and collaborate within a close-knit, supportive legal team.
Hybrid working statement
You'll spend at least 60% of your working week in the office, though we know there is no one-size-fits-all and arrangements may vary from role to role.
