Role Description

As the Assistant Merchandiser Advanced on Kitchen's in our Homewear team, you will take full ownership for budgeting, promotional and clearance markdown, in-season trading, and exit decisions, and intake and volume plan. You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer cookware and dinnerware ranges from planning through to execution. We are looking for someone who is organized and commercially minded with the confidence to manage stakeholder relationships, influence decisions, and present insights to senior leaders. You will need to balance multiple priorities while ensuring every detail is delivered right the first time.

It is a great opportunity for someone with strong potential who is ready to take the next step in their merchandising career and work towards a Junior Merchandiser position in the future. Someone who is excited to own the range, influence stakeholders, and deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing stock planning
  • Provide reporting on supplier performance against KPIs
  • Manage promotional and clearance markdown
  • Manage in-season and exit trading
  • Coordinate stock allocation to stores

Skills and Experience

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Working to at least Assistant Merchandiser level at a major retailer
  • Passionate about M&S and the womenswear product range - confident initiating trading actions
  • Technical knowledge of the end-to-end buy-to-store process
  • Experience of using the relevant IT support systems
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and interpretive skills
  • Ability to initiate and build strong relationships with Design, Buying, and Technology
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
