We were founded by Angus Gilmour, an ex-professional Badminton player turned recruitment leader. In the 8 years following his sporting career, Angus helped to build an award-winning international recruitment company. What We Do
Athlete Origin supports current and ex-elite athletes to enter high growth commercial careers across the UK & USA. We have partnerships with a diverse and expanding range of companies – from innovative start-ups & scale-ups seeking talent to accelerate their business, to multi-national organisations with a huge range of opportunities globally. Our service supports athletes to achieve meaningful employment in these organisations, facilitating successful and fulfilling careers beyond sport.
The Role
Following the successful launch of our business, we’re looking for talented and driven people to accelerate our growth!
As an early joiner, this role offers a massive opportunity to shape the future direction of Athlete Origin, whilst developing valuable commercial skills.
Combining athlete engagement, relationship building, networking and recruiting, Athlete Origin's Athlete Engagement Associates will receive comprehensive training in sports recruitment - equipping them with the skills to identify, engage, and support athletes throughout the hiring journey.

What you’ll do
- Athlete Engagement: Identify, attract and connect with athletes via phone, email, LinkedIn, social media, referrals, and in-person meetings. Grow our community of athletes who could benefit from Athlete Origin’s support.
- Athlete Screening & Qualification: Conduct initial conversations with athletes to understand their background, motivations, and career goals, ensuring they're well-matched to current and future opportunities.
- Athlete Management: Work closely with the business development team to match athletes with relevant job opportunities, coordinating interviews, managing candidate communication, and providing support throughout the recruitment process.
- Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with athletes, universities, sporting organisations, and referral partners to create a consistent pipeline of high-quality talent.
- Social Media Support: Support with growing Athlete Origin’s social media presence, raising awareness of our offering for athletes and companies.

Recruitment Process
Candidates who pass the first screening process will receive a short telephone interview. If successful, you will be invited for a formal interview.
