Lift Firth Park is looking for an Attendance Admin Assistant to join our driven and supportive team on a term time basis. Excellent attendance is the foundation of student success, meaning this is far more than an admin job, you will play a vital role in removing barriers to education, improving student outcomes, and supporting families. About The Role
In this varied role, you will act as a core component of our administration team with a primary focus on supporting our Attendance Team. Excellent attendance is fundamental to student success, and you will help us track, monitor, and support student engagement, maintaining accurate records, supporting school events, and welcoming visitors at reception.
Key Responsibilities
- Attendance & Student Data Support: Assist the Attendance Team by handling daily attendance enquiries, updating student records accurately, compiling tracking reports for the Senior Leadership Team, and liaising with parents and carers regarding student absence.
- General Administration: Draft and distribute internal and external communications (including newsletters and announcements), monitor the school email inbox, and assist with school admissions, enrolment, and appeals processes.
- Safeguarding & Standards: Uphold school safeguarding policies, maintain strict confidentiality, and adhere to administrative procedures at all times.

What We Would Like To See
- Strong Administrative Skills: Previous administrative experience, ideally within an educational setting, with excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail.
- Empathetic Communication: A warm, approachable tone with the ability to build positive relationships with parents, carers, staff, and pupils—especially when discussing sensitive attendance matters.
- Technical Proficiency: Confidence using administrative software, spreadsheets, and student database management systems (MIS).
- Adaptability & Initiative: The ability to balance time-sensitive attendance priorities alongside general reception duties and administrative requests.
- Commitment to Inclusion & Safeguarding: An unswerving commitment to pupil welfare, confidentiality, and our mission to help every child flourish.
- Understanding of UK School Attendance Guidance: Practical knowledge of statutory DfE attendance guidance (Working together to improve school attendance), attendance coding, persistent absence thresholds, and the vital link between school attendance and pupil safeguarding.
- Attendance System & Data Experience: Familiarity with recording, monitoring, and reporting student attendance data using school management information systems (such as Management Information Systems / MIS).
- UK Right to Work: This post does not meet the salary or skill threshold required for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, so candidates must already possess the right to work in the UK.
