About This Role
Maiden Erlegh Trust is seeking an organised, accurate and professional Attendance Administrative Assistant to provide efficient, effective and confidential administrative support to the school attendance office.
Based at Maiden Erlegh School, you will support the attendance team with accurate record keeping, student data management, attendance correspondence and general administration. Your work will contribute to effective attendance processes, clear communication with students, parents and carers, and strong attendance practice that supports student wellbeing and access to learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, timely and confidential administrative support to the school attendance team.
- Produce and send standard attendance letters through the school’s e-communication system and by post.
- Input, manage and maintain student attendance data accurately.
- Maintain attendance-related records and filing systems to support monitoring, review and decision-making.
- Support the preparation and administration of attendance information.
- Provide administrative support that enables effective communication with students, parents, carers, colleagues and outside agencies.
- Take minutes at relevant meetings when required.
- Undertake photocopying and other administrative duties within the attendance office as directed.
- Handle attendance-related information with confidentiality, accuracy and sensitivity.
- Work professionally and collaboratively with colleagues and other stakeholders.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have an NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent and a minimum of two years’ experience in an administrative role. Knowledge of Bromcom packages is desirable.
You Will Also Be Able To
- Communicate clearly and appropriately, both verbally and in writing.
- Respond to queries professionally and accurately.
- Use tact, diplomacy, confidentiality and sensitivity when handling information.
- Organise and prioritise your workload, manage your time and meet deadlines.
- Work accurately despite frequent interruptions and maintain strong attention to detail.
- Take ownership of allocated work and use initiative when required.
- Work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Use Microsoft Office and Excel competently.
- Input, manage and maintain student data accurately.
- Demonstrate a reliable, proactive, flexible and adaptable approach.
- Show a commitment to ongoing learning, development and the wellbeing and safety of children.
