Description
Aylesford School is an all-through school serving children and young people in Warwick and the surrounding communities, providing education from primary through to secondary age.
Role Description
We are seeking an organised, approachable and highly motivated Attendance Manager to oversee the school’s attendance procedures and maintain accurate student attendance records. Working closely with families, Heads of Year, senior leaders and safeguarding colleagues, you will monitor absences, manage attendance communications, analyse patterns and support interventions across both Primary and Secondary Phases.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters professionally. Experience of attendance administration, safeguarding or working in education would be advantageous.

Qualifications

- GCSE or equivalent level, including at least Grade 4/C in English and maths.
- Full driving licence and access to transport where required for home visits or attendance-related duties.
- Experience working in a school, education, pastoral, family support or comparable setting.
- Experience supporting children, young people and families, including those facing barriers to attendance or engagement.
- Experience working with colleagues and external stakeholders, including external agencies.
- Experience maintaining accurate written records and handling sensitive information appropriately.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitively with pupils, families, staff and external agencies.
- Good listening skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Good IT skills, including the ability to record, monitor and analyse information accurately.
- Understanding of barriers to attendance and learning that pupils may face.
- Ability to tailor plans and interventions to individual pupils and family circumstance.
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities in relation to children and young people.
- Patient, calm and professional, including when dealing with sensitive or challenging situations.
- Committed to providing the best possible opportunities for all pupils.
- Organised, proactive and self-motivated, with good time management skills.
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise effectively.
- Maintains confidentiality at all times.
