About the Role

Chilwell School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, organised and proactive Attendance Officer to join our team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in improving school attendance and punctuality, working closely with pupils, families, school staff and external agencies to identify and overcome barriers to attendance. The role includes monitoring and analysing attendance data, supporting pupils and families, conducting home visits and ensuring the school meets its statutory responsibilities in relation to attendance. You will also have line management responsibility for Student Services.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with pupils, families, school staff and external agencies to identify and overcome barriers to attendance.
  • Monitor and analyse attendance data.
  • Support pupils and families.
  • Conduct home visits.
  • Ensure the school meets its statutory responsibilities in relation to attendance.
  • Have line management responsibility for Student Services.

Requirements

  • Experience of working with children and families, ideally within an educational or attendance-related setting.
  • Good understanding of attendance regulations and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Confidence working with data and IT systems.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and professionals.
  • Full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.
