Role Summary

Talbot Primary School are seeking to appoint a reliable, flexible and enthusiastic Attendance Officer to join our busy school business team. The post requires a high degree of interpersonal, organisation, communication and administrative skills (including initiative, flexibility, diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality and a professional approach).

We Are Seeking a Professional Individual Who

  • Has previous experience of working in a similar role within a school environment
  • To provide excellent all round administrative support to the school as a whole including the Headteacher, School Business Manager and the Office Team.
  • Liaison between Parents/Carers, all staff, Governors and external agencies.
  • Monitoring Attendance with reports to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Representing school at meetings and legal proceedings.
  • Oversee the registration process and ensure attendance of all pupils is tracked every day with absences followed up and accounted for.
  • The candidate will need to take decisions on a day-to-day basis to ensure administrative deadlines and requirements are met, to prioritise own workload including the timely production of information and analysis of data.
  • To deal with changing and conflicting deadlines and to frequently deal with non-routine queries and forwarding matters to appropriate staff where necessary.
  • Formal letter writing, writing up reports.
  • Diary Management via Microsoft Outlook.
  • Maintain confidential databases including Bromcom MIS and CPoms.
  • Can build and maintain professional and positive working relationships.
  • Organising and maintaining effective filing/file management systems.
  • Ensuring all Safeguarding matters that may be disclosed to you are logged correctly.
  • Has good interpersonal skills.
  • Has discretion and sensitivity.
  • A good team player.
  • Ensure a safe, secure and caring environment for the well-being of the children.
