AV Technician
We are recruiting a proactive and customer focused AV Technician to join a well established professional membership organisation based in Central London.
This is a full time temporary opportunity, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Some evening and occasional weekend work will be required to support meetings, events and projects, with time off in lieu provided.
The Role
You will provide hands on audio visual and first line IT support across the organisation, ensuring that meeting rooms, events, presentations and video conferencing run smoothly.
You will be the first point of contact for colleagues requiring support with AV equipment and meeting room technology, while also assisting with day to day IT queries and escalating more complex issues to the wider IT team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up, testing and operating AV equipment for meetings, presentations, training sessions and events.
- Providing live technical support during internal and external events, including occasional evening and weekend events.
- Supporting video conferencing and collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Teams and Teams telephony.
- Troubleshooting projectors, screens, microphones, cameras, speakers, presentation equipment and meeting room technology.
- Carrying out routine checks, maintenance and fault finding of AV and IT equipment.
- Managing and resolving first line IT and AV support tickets in line with agreed service levels.
- Providing support with laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers and peripherals.
- Assisting with equipment set up for new starters, including device configuration and user accounts.
- Maintaining accurate records of AV and IT equipment, assets and faults.
- Supporting WiFi, connectivity and basic network troubleshooting where required.
- Providing clear and approachable guidance to colleagues on using meeting room technology, Microsoft 365 and collaboration tools.
- Escalating recurring issues, technical risks and more complex faults to the Service Desk Manager and wider IT team.

About You

- Previous experience in an AV Technician, AV Support, IT Support or Service Desk role.
- Confident supporting AV equipment in meeting rooms, training spaces and event environments.
- Experience with video conferencing platforms, ideally Microsoft Teams, including cameras, microphones, screens and room systems.
- Strong fault finding skills across AV hardware, end user devices, software and connectivity.
- Comfortable providing live support during meetings and events, remaining calm and professional under pressure.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems, service desk ticketing systems and user account administration would be beneficial.
- Organised, customer focused and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends when required to support events.
