NHS Band 5 Salary: £32,073 - £39,043 pro rata per annum
(actual Salary: £12,829 - £15,617 per annum)

Job Description
We are currently recruiting into our fantastic Trust. Here at Portsmouth University Hospital NHS Trust Audiology department, we are proud to introduce ourselves and share with you that we are looking to recruit a Band 5 Audiologist to a new role that has arisen the department. We are expanding our complex adult services and are looking to welcome a new member to this established team.
We are looking for an Audiologist with general adult Audiology experience. The successful candidate will have AHCS/RCCP or HCPC registration (pre-registered graduates and those working towards state registration will be considered). Excellent clinical, communication and organisational skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Independent clinical testing, reporting and decision making for routine adult patients. Including hearing aid assessment, fitting, signposting to supporting agencies, basic tinnitus support, Hearing aid repair and ENT support.
- With the support of senior staff members, the assessment and rehabilitation of more complex adults including direct referral for MRI, ENT and Audio vestibular medicine.
- Day to day management of relevant clinical and administrative functions of the PHU Audiology Service, ensuring the Audiology service maintains the highest possible standards of care; and clinical and management decisions are effectively communicated throughout the audiology service.
- Involvement in service review and audit.
- Timely and effective response to telephone, postal and email enquiries from professionals and patients.
- Provide appropriate professional advice and to make recommendations to the Head of Service.
- Ensure the continued development of the service to the highest possible standards.
Qualifications
- PTP or BSc in Audiology or equivalent, with the completion of associated clinical placement.
- Clinical skills and experience to appropriate standard of independent practice as supported by, or working towards, State Registration.
Experience
- Adult hearing assessment and patient management.
- Hearing aid fitting (with REMs), follow up and repair.
- Audiometry and middle ear analysis to support ENT, including experience with children over 3.
- Communication with multidisciplinary teams ensuring affective patient management.

Skills and Knowledge
- Relevant practical knowledge and experience. Patient handling, counselling and all necessary skills involved in adult Audiology working.
- Experience of using all relevant diagnostic, rehabilitative and clinical instrumentation including hearing assessment and the fitting and verification of hearing aids.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
- Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
