Join a modern, growing Chartered Accountancy Practice
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts & Audit Manager to join a well-established and expanding Chartered Accountancy Practice.
This role offers the opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of clients, build long-term relationships and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the practice.
We're looking for an ambitious qualified accountant who enjoys working closely with clients and delivering high-quality accounts, tax and advisory services.
The Role
You'll be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, charities and other clients, acting as their trusted advisor while ensuring an exceptional level of client service.
The portfolio generates approximately £300,000 in annual recurring fees. Candidates with a broad Accounts & Audit background are encouraged to apply. However, we also welcome applications from individuals with strong Accounts and Tax Compliance experience, even if your recent audit exposure is limited.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and charities.
- Build strong, long-term client relationships.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients.
- Review statutory accounts prepared under UK accounting standards.
- Review corporation tax and personal tax returns.
- Plan, manage and review audit assignments (where applicable).
- Monitor portfolio profitability, WIP and billing.
- Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Supervise, mentor and develop junior members of the team.
- Identify opportunities to provide additional advisory services.
- Maintain high professional and technical standards.
About You

To be successful, you'll ideally have:
- ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
- Approximately 4-5 years' post-qualified experience.
- Previous experience managing a portfolio within UK Accountancy Practice.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounts preparation and tax compliance.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
Desirable
- Audit planning and review experience.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff.
- Exposure to SMEs, owner-managed businesses and charities.
- Portfolio management and fee recovery experience.
