Audit & Accounts Semi Senior

TPF Recruitment is recruiting for an Audit & Accounts Semi Senior to join a relaxed, independent firm of accountants based in Tunbridge Wells. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their practice experience within a friendly team that values work life balance. The firm offers a relaxed working environment, an excellent benefits package and is happy to consider both full time and part time candidates.

You’ll primarily focus on accounts and tax work for owner managed businesses, with audit making up no more than 25% of your workload. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you’ll build your technical knowledge and take on greater responsibility as you develop.

Responsibilities

As an Audit & Accounts Semi Senior, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, for review by senior colleagues.
  • Preparing corporation tax computations and assisting with tax compliance.
  • Undertaking bookkeeping and preparing VAT returns where required.
  • Assisting with audit planning, fieldwork and completion, representing up to 25% of your workload.
  • Liaising with clients to obtain information and respond to routine accounts and tax queries.
  • Working closely with colleagues to meet deadlines and deliver an excellent service.

Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll have:

  • Previous experience within an accountancy practice, including accounts preparation and tax work.
  • AAT qualifications or be studying towards ACA or ACCA. Candidates with relevant practical experience will also be considered.
  • A developing understanding of accounts preparation and tax compliance for owner managed businesses.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines with support.
  • Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues.
  • A friendly, collaborative approach and a willingness to learn.
  • Previous audit experience would be beneficial, although candidates with a strong accounts background who are keen to gain audit exposure are encouraged to apply.
