Nunn Hayward is a well-established and growing Chartered Accountancy firm with offices in Gerrards Cross and Chorleywood, serving clients across Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and beyond. We provide high-quality advisory and compliance services in the areas of accountancy, audit and tax to a broad range of clients.

The Role
This role will be most suited to someone who thrives under pressure, is delivery focused, enjoys management and accountability.
You will have extensive experience in statutory audit and accounts preparation and will have worked in Practice.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of audit and accounts clients across a range of sectors, with a bias towards audit
- Lead audit assignments from planning to completion, in line with auditing and accounting standards
- Review audit files, financial statements and supporting documentation prepared by junior staff
- Prepare and review statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, sole traders, charities and other entities
- Review corporation tax computations, liaising with the tax department as needed
- Manage audit teams on site and remotely, delivering work efficiently, to budget and on deadline
- Act as primary client contact, building strong professional relationships
- Advise clients on practical business, accounting and financial matters, identifying opportunities to add value and improve their processes and controls
- Report to partners on assignment progress, risks and key findings
- Supervise, coach and develop junior team members, and assist with recruitment, performance management and appraisals
- Ensure compliance with the firm's quality control procedures and professional standards
- Deliver specialist assignments including due diligence, grant, charity and pension audits, plus ad-hoc projects
- Keep up to date with accounting, auditing and tax developments and brief the team
- Support partners with business development, networking and winning new work

Qualifications / Skills
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Significant experience in a multi-partner practice, including at supervisory or management level
- Extensive audit and accounts experience, running assignments from planning to completion
- Strong, current technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102, auditing standards and corporation tax
- Proven leadership, mentoring and team management skills
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communicator, able to build relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels
- Commercially aware self-starter, committed to exceptional client service and able to juggle competing deadlines
- Competent with Microsoft Office, Sage and Xero (CCH, Caseware or similar an advantage)
- Driver with access to a vehicle for client visits
