Role Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or newly qualified accountant with strong audit and accounts experience to step into a key senior role. The successful candidate will act as an important link between junior staff and the partners, taking ownership of jobs, reviewing work, managing workflow and helping to drive efficient, high-quality delivery across the audit and accounts team. There is genuine scope to grow, develop and progress within the firm.

The Audit & Accounts Senior will be responsible for planning, leading and reviewing audit and accounts assignments for a wide range of clients. The role requires someone who can manage jobs from start to finish, support and supervise junior team members, liaise confidently with clients and report effectively to the audit partner.

  • Plan, lead and review audit assignments from initial planning through to completion.
  • Identify audit risks, assess their potential impact and develop practical measures to address them.
  • Ensure audits and accounts assignments are completed on time, within agreed budgets and to a high standard.
  • Report directly to the audit partner, highlighting key findings, technical issues, workflow priorities and client matters.
  • Act as a key point of contact between partners and junior staff, helping to coordinate jobs, allocate work and keep assignments moving efficiently.
  • Review audit files, accounts preparation work and supporting schedules prepared by junior team members.
  • Manage, supervise and develop junior staff on audit and accounts jobs, providing guidance, feedback and technical support.
  • Liaise directly with clients, build strong working relationships and provide a professional, responsive service.
  • Prepare and review accounts under IFRS, FRS 102, FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 105.
  • Assist with additional work including management accounts, consolidated group accounts and special projects for clients considering acquisitions, finance or other strategic matters.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
