Audit & Accounts Semi-Senior

Varied General Practice Role | Up to £35,000, depending on experience

An established accountancy practice is looking to recruit an Audit & Accounts Semi-Senior as part of its continued growth.

This is a varied general practice position offering exposure to accounts preparation, audit, management accounts, and taxation. The precise balance of responsibilities can be adapted to reflect the experience and development needs of the successful candidate.

The opportunity would suit an ACA or ACCA studier, part-qualified accountant, or finalist who has already gained relevant experience within a UK accountancy practice and would like to continue developing across a broad range of work.

The Role

Your Responsibilities Are Likely To Include:

  • Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Assisting with audit assignments from planning and fieldwork through to completion
  • Preparing management accounts
  • Supporting clients with computerized and, where required, manual bookkeeping
  • Preparing corporation tax and personal tax computations
  • Applying your knowledge of capital allowances
  • Liaising with clients and responding to routine accounting queries
  • Maintaining accurate working papers and ensuring assignments are completed to the required standard
  • Working closely with more senior colleagues while gradually taking on greater responsibility

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
