About The Role

Based in London, this permanent, full-time Audit And Accounts Senior position offers a salary between £40,000 and £48,000 per annum. You will join an established practice in the South West, allocating your time evenly between statutory accounts preparation and external audit assignments. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant who enjoys a varied role, with an even split between accounts and audit. You will work with a diverse portfolio of clients while developing your technical expertise and taking on increasing responsibility within the practice.

The Role

With approximately 50% of your time focused on accounts and 50% on audit, this is a varied role offering excellent exposure across both areas of practice.

You will work closely with Managers and Directors and will have responsibility for delivering high-quality work to a broad range of clients.

Your Responsibilities As Audit & Accounts Senior Will Include

  • Preparing year-end statutory accounts for a variety of clients
  • Preparing accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Supporting the preparation of management accounts
  • Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
  • Assisting with VAT and other compliance work
  • Planning and carrying out audit assignments from start to completion
  • Undertaking audit fieldwork and preparing detailed working papers
  • Identifying and communicating audit issues and areas requiring further investigation
  • Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
  • Reviewing work prepared by more junior members of the team
  • Supporting Managers and Directors with client assignments
  • Managing your own portfolio of work and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Building strong and trusted relationships with clients

About You

We are looking for an Audit & Accounts Senior with solid experience gained within a UK accountancy practice and a genuine interest in both audit and accounts.

You Will Ideally Have

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in an audit and accounts role within practice
  • Strong accounts preparation experience
  • Experience of working on audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • A commercially astute approach, with the ability to understand clients' businesses and identify opportunities to add value
  • Confident communication and client relationship skills
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

You will ideally be ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified, although candidates with strong relevant practice experience will also be considered.
