Audit & Accounts Associate
Hampshire - various locations | Hybrid and flexible working
£35,000 to £45,000 depending on experience

A growing and ambitious accountancy firm is looking to appoint an Audit & Accounts Associate to its expanding team. The firm works with an interesting mix of clients, including growing owner-managed businesses, groups and private equity-backed organisations. The position has been created as part of continued growth and offers a supportive environment in which you can complete your professional qualifications while steadily increasing your responsibility.
Your new role
You will work across a varied portfolio of audit and accounts assignments, gaining exposure to businesses of different sizes and structures. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the planning and completion of audit assignments
- Undertaking audit fieldwork, including substantive and analytical testing
- Preparing clear and properly documented audit files
- Preparing statutory accounts from client records
- Identifying potential risks or areas requiring further review
- Liaising directly with clients throughout assignments
- Working closely with senior colleagues, managers, and partners
- Supporting more junior members of the team as your experience develops

The balance of audit and accounts work will give you broad technical experience rather than limiting you to one area.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be studying towards the ACA or ACCA qualification and will ideally have at least two years' experience working in audit within an accountancy firm. You should be comfortable working as part of an audit team and have some practical experience of audit fieldwork and accounts preparation. The firm is looking for someone who is organised, collaborative, and keen to continue progressing professionally.
